An American songwriting legend and son of a cantor, Harold Arlen was fascinated early in life with the sound of ragtime. As well as singing in his father's synagogue, he played ragtime piano in local Buffalo bands and accompanied silent films. From his early beginning in New York, he would go on to write the music for great films and musicals including "The Wizard Of Oz". Our collection here features five of Arlen's most memorable tunes.
