Cell phones are everywhere! We love them and we hate them. This novelty piece is dedicated to those little devices that seem to ring at the most inappropriate times. Also included is a companion CD which features a demonstration track that you can play for your band. "Cell Phone Blues" will be fun for both the band and the audience. Technical Notes: The 1st percussion part is labeled "Percussion (triangle, cell phone effect)". The 2nd percussion part is for drum set.
Notes to the Conductor: Get the audience involved! During the last 35 seconds of the piece, ask audience members to activate the ringers on their phone. You might consider programming this piece near the beginning of your concert and afterward kindly say, "Now please turn those little devils off for the rest of the concert!"
