Technical Notes: After a brief introduction in the brass and saxophones, the Verse is played in a rubato style by the woodwind choir. Important bass and tenor lines, as well as the horn countermelody, are cued in the appropriate brass parts for those bands lacking sufficient low woodwinds and horns. The alla breve chorus beginning at 19 should begin softly so that a gradual crescendo at 35 will be no more than a solid forte by 43. The grandioso at 51 should not be too slow, and a slight ritardando may be added on the last 4 measures if desired.
Arranger(s): This piece was arranged by John Edmondson.
