Austrian composer Franz Schubert composed these selections taken from many of his extended works and transcribed for one piano/four hands. These piano duets include the "Quatre Polonaise" with it's four different movements written in four different key signatures. This famous piece was written as a celebration of a stately form of Polish dance that was usually in triple time and contained an often repetitive rhythmic underlying melody.
