Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Piano Concerto No. 21 In C Major, K. 367, Elvira Madigan
This justifiably famous piano concerto, with the gorgeous "Andante" theme, became a popular hit when it was used in the film "Elvira Madigan". Filled with lush melodies orchestrated in Mozart’s inimitable style, this music is graceful and elegant throughout. This music is a great example of the classical piano concerto. The Danish composer, organist and violinist, Niels Gade, began his musical career with the Danish Royal Orchestra. His first success as a composer came in 1840 with his overture Echoes of Ossian. It was at the debut of his first symphonic work where he met composers Mendelssohn and Schumann who from then on greatly influenced his work. This collection features some of his later piano pieces that eventually brought him world-wide recognition as a master composer. Written for solo piano, the works are thoroughly Scandanavian in character and feel, a quality that later changed with his introduction to German styles of music. "Niels W. Gade - Piano Pieces - Piano (Piano Solo)" weighs 4.48 oz.
