Sir Peter Maxwell Davies is universally acknowledged as one of the foremost composers of our time. His orchestral works include six symphonies and eleven concertos. The first performance of this work was April 22, 1969, at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London. The performance featured Roy Hart and The Pierrot Players, and was conducted by Peter Maxwell Davies.
